MEDICAL DOCTOR ABDUCTED AFTER THE RELEASE OF APC CHIEFTAIN

A medical doctor known as Hope Bellgam has been kidnapped. This was confirmed by Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association in Rivers State, Datonye Alasia.

Hope  who is a Consultant of Internal Medicine at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UPTH was kidnapped at gunpoint at her residence within GRA, Port Harcourt.

The NMA chairman who confirmed the incident expressed worries that medical practitioners have become endangered targets in Rivers state, calling for the unconditional release of Hope Bellgam.

In the meantime, former Liaison Officer at the Rivers State Liaison Office in Abuja, John Enebeli, who was kidnapped last week has been set free by his abductors.
Enebeli is also a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State.
Also released were Austin Enebeli and Afam Onyia who were also kidnapped with him along the Elele-Omoku Road in Rivers State.
Their release was confirmed in a statement on Wednesday signed by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone, who also commended security agents as well as the leadership of the party who worked to ensure their early release.
Finebone stated that, “The three gentlemen were kidnapped on the Elele – Omoku Road last weekend. This morning, they regained their freedom and are undergoing medicals after their traumatic experience.
“We thank our leader and Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Rivers State APC Chairman, Hon. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, other leaders of Rivers APC and security agencies for their timely intervention in various capacities that facilitated the safe release of the three gentlemen”, he added.
