CRUDE OIL STOLEN FROM SHELL ABANDONED IN PORT HARCOURT

The Elele Alimini local security Vigilante group last weekend discovered two trucks loaded with Crude oil along SHELL pipeline right of way in Elele Alimini, Emohua local government area of Rivers State.

The crude oil allegedly belonging to Shell petroleum Development Company SPDC was said to have been sabotaged as a result of oil theft which has forced crude oil to have spilled into the community river causing damage to the people.

The trucks loaded with crude but faked with wood and sawdust was said to be abandoned by the oil bunkerers when luck ran out on them as the tires of the trucks sunk in the thick forest with no other alternative, but to abandon it and ran for their lives.
Upon the discovery of the trucks loaded with the crude, the Vigilante group alerted the police and other security agencies as they responded immediately and took over possession of the entire place and the product.

Confirming the incident, the Chairman Elele Alimini Supreme council of Chiefs Maharaj Augustine Mgbomo congratulated the Vigilante committee for their activeness and appealed to the SPDC, Rivers State Government and Emohua local government Council to urgently come to their aid to close the opening which has already spilled into the community river.

He maintained that if nothing was urgently don in both evaluation of the abandoned trucks and proper closure of the affected place that the spilling crude may cause more damage to the river and their farm land which is the only source of survival of the community.
