Popular Technocrat Mr Eugene Abels has come out to appeal to the general public on behalf of the family of Late Miss Beatrice Cookey, who died battling with Renal failure. He appeals that the general public go to the aid of her mother and give her assistance in this her time of need.

Here is what he had to say

#ThisisNigeria Nigeria failed her :

Amah lived at 32 Lagos Street, Port Harcourt a unique address because her mother have nourished us at this address with her food or 'mama-put'for the past 15 years.

She sucummbed to complications arising from Renal failure. An ailment that took a toil on the finances of her family.

Amah's ailment reinforced my fear about the increased cases of renal complications and ailments that people do not talk about.

What has changed? Our environment has changed and become polluted. It might not be the direct cause of her ailment and death. But the cases of Renal failure and Cancers are on the rise in Rivers State .

The absence of affordable treatment is a reflection of our state of affairs. Most people who suffer from these ailments are automatically condemned to die. How could the family raise N10 million for her treatment in India? That was a tall order for even me.

I am consoled that her pains have ended and she drifts in perfection with her maker.

We thank those of you who supported them but the debts arising from weekly dialysis have piled up as they had to resort to money lenders for the weekly N45.000.00 per session of dialysis

The mother an Accounting graduate from the United States: is physically, emotionally and financially drained and I appeal to you all to assist them.

Remember the sweet food and cuourtesy we have received from this family driven Mama-put : Kindly stop over at 32 Lagos Street and support them with a word kind and a donation

God bless you.
