Passion for a sustainable environment and social development drives Sira Lewis daily. Sira has over 7 years experience in social entrepreneurship and she is the co-founder of EDEN Garden City Project (EDEN GCP) under the United States Consulate Lagos youth empowerment program, she was a part of the premier team that implemented a waste management empowerment project for over 500,000 on-air listeners, 600 traders, 40 youths and over 50 students in Port Harcourt. As a cofounder of EDEN GCP she has helped her team improve environmental sanitation of public markets and Schools in Rivers, Lagos and Bayelsa State.
She is a trained a WIMBIZ Capital Entrepreneur, a British Council Business Accelerator, a Climate Reality Leader and a Social Entrepreneurship Innovator from the United States Climate Reality Project and Startingbloc Institute respectively. Being a Civil Engineer since 2012 till date under Built2Last project she has successfully embarked on a public school facility maintenance project and enlightened over 5000 National Youth Corp members on career enhancement through Google digital skills, engaged over 2500 students on waste management, recycle art and practical climate change mitigation action. In 2016 she successfully carried out environmental sustainability programs across 5 urban and 6 rural public high schools, 2 Markets and 2 Coastal Communities inclusive of 'Dustbin Village' in Oworonshoki Community Lagos State. In her spare time, she trains kids on recycling and upcycle art, consults for social impact projects and enlightens Youth Corp members on career enhancement as well as making accessories for her accessories line SiraLewis Jewels.
Sira is a recipient of the General Electric Hardware Garage Program and a 2016 President Obama Young African Leaders West Africa Fellow working on sustainable ways to improve the environment and lives in underserved communities. She has received several awards for her contributions to lives and communities
