Hon. Kelechi Nwogu Begins Construction of Mini Stadium in Eberi-Omuma

Barely five days after Hon. Kelechi Nwogu was given a prestigious award for sport development in Rivers State, the sport loving lawmaker has started the construction of an artificial turf mini stadium with a seating capacity of 2000 in Eberi-Omuma. the goal lines is 64 m (70 yd) wide, and the touchlines is 100 m (110 yd) long, which is the FIFA standard.





Hon. Kelechi Nwogu explained that he decided to go for an artificial turf because it would be easier to maintain, he also said the aim and objectives of the stadium are: (1) To take talented Omuma youths off the street to the league (2) To make Omuma an attraction for football players, promoters, and enthusiasts.



There will be a hotel behind the stadium so that any professional football club in Nigeria can use it for pre-season camping, it can also be used to host inter university games like FASU, FISU, and NUGA. When completed, the edifice will be the first artificial turf in any local government area in Rivers State, and it would bring people from all works of life, far and near to Omuma.
