SALLAH IN RIVERS: Muslim Cleric Enjoins Politicians to show more love and care for the Poor and Needy




The Chief Imam of Mile One Central Mosque, Khalifa Muritala Suleiman has urged Muslims in Rivers State to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and show love to one another as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad and other prophets in the Holy Quaran.                     
Sulieman who is also the public relations officer of the Rivers State Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs also called on politicians to take care of the poor, noting that the tension and insecurities being withnessed in different parts of the country is as a result of the "privileged ones and political leaders failing to fulfil their responsibilities to the poor".

He said the only panacea to the turbulence across the country is for politicians to enshew greediness and sincerely give to the poor and less privileged what is due them.

Sulieman in his Sallah message urged Muslims to fear God and show love to all which he said is the hallmark of the Sallah celebration.  

He enjoined them to always adhere to the teachings of the Holy Quran and shun all acts that are prohibited in Islam.

He prayed for the peaceful co-existence of Muslims and non- Muslims in the state and the country at large.
