Jubilation in Ndoki, Oyigbo as PHED Restores Power Supply

After about a week persistent and united resolve to demand for the restoration of power supply, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) on Wednesday succumbed to the demand of the people of Ndoki and other host communities in Oyigbo Local Government Area and has restored their two months held power supply.
City News gathered power was restored to the protesting PHED host communities in Oyigbo after a crucial deliberation between PHED, Multi Nationals operating in the area, youth bodies, CDC and Opinion leaders from the host Communities.

You will recalled that the youths and women of Oyigbo have been protesting against what they termed "the neglect of the Century where the Host Communities were cut off from National grid and kept in perpetual darkness for no cogent reason from PHED".

It does seem like a sweet victory for Oyigbo people. But a source and an opinion leader from the LGA has hinted City News that while the issue of light has been resolved, the people are strategizing to start another agitation against the  deplorable state of roads in an LGA blessed with crude oil and serving as host to numerous multinationals and federal government agencies.
