Government is After Me Because of my 2023 Political Ambition ~ General Kumasi Alleges

A repentant Cult leader, General Kumasi who was recently declared wanted by the Rivers State Government in connection with rising insecurity in the Ahoada West axis of the state has blamed his latest negative profiling on his 2023 political ambition.

Speaking on a live radio programme monitored by City News in Port Harcourt on Friday morning, Kumasi said he has decided to contest for the Ahoada-West Constituency seat at the State House of Assembly in order to make a difference and bring succor to his people who have been denied good representation.

He accused politicians in the PDP, whom he claimed to have previously worked for, of feeding Governor Nyesom Wike with false information about him in order to frustrate his House of Assembly ambition.

Recall the Rivers State Governor had on Tuesday during a meeting with leaders of the Ekpeye ethnic nationality placed a bounty on him and another suspected cult leader identified as VIP.

But in the interview, Kumasi insisted he is innocent. He also debunked reports that he was involved in an embarrassing and open altercation with the Ahoada West Local Government Chairman, Evangelist Hope Ikiriko.

He said: “I do not know why the governor declared me wanted. I look at it as a way of tarnishing my name because they know I have ambition of going to the Assembly in 2023 and the politicians are looking for a way to rub mess on my name.

“I have worked for PDP. I have worked for politicians. I see no reason why this time I want to go to [the] Assembly they are now raising these issues. They know I have influence and crowd. Boys, girls, men and women are with me. The only way they can spoil my name is to say I embarrassed my chairman. I worked with the government this time. Why are they doing this to me? I am very surprised.

“I am popular because I have never been involved in kidnapping, raping or robbery. I only concentrated on cultism. I was paying school fees for youths and helping widows, doing charity and visiting motherless babies’ homes. My people are happy with me because I never chop alone. I only kill who wants to kill me. This is why I want to go to the Assembly. I want to make a difference. We have been sending people but they will return with fake stories. They will be buying cars for girlfriends while the people are suffering”
