The State Chairman of the Party, Dienye Pepple in the company of some Local Govt Party Chairmen say they are supporting a young and vibrant candidate who is from the South-East Senatorial District that has not produced a Governor in the state.
They, however, asked "obedients" in Rivers State to vote for the LP State Assembly candidates in the election.
They say the decision to support Mr Fubara is in line with the values of equity, fairness and justice which propelled them to support Mr Peter Obi for the Nation's Presidential Election.
