A Nigerian senator, his wife, and a middleman from the medical industry have been imprisoned after being found guilty of conspiring to traffic a market trader to the UK to take his kidney. Ike Ekweremadu, a 60-year-old politician, and his wife Beatrice, 56, were accused of the offence in a trial alongside their 25-year-old daughter, Sonia. Ekweremadus and Dr Obinna Obeta, the middleman, were jailed in a sentencing hearing.
