More Defections Hit APC In Rivers State, As PDP Basks More Members

The All Progressive Congress (APC), Ikwerre Local Government Area Chapter of Rivers State, on Wednesday suffered another setback as the leadership of Non-indigenes Without Border in Aluu Community collapsed into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Receiving the defectors at the National Secretariat of Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI), Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the PDP Chairman of Ikwerre LGA, Hon Barr Sunny Wondikom, thanked the non-indigenes for seeing PDP as the party that has answers to all their problems.
Barr Wondikom further assured them that they will never be discriminated or marginalised in PDP.
According to him, "In Peoples Democratic Party, there is nothing like indigene and non-indigene. Everybody is accorded the same right and privileges. Whatever share is coming to the indigenes, also goes to non-indigenes.
Even in the constitution of Caretaker Committee of every LGA, the non-indigenes also have a slot. There is nothing that has ever been shared in PDP, without the non-indigenes having their own share. You can go and ask the non-indigenes who are already in our party."
The LGA PDP Chairman subsequently handed them over to the PDP Ward Chairman of Aluu, Mr Nduka Nwosu. He also charged them to work wholeheartedly for the PDP and also encourage others who are yet to decamp over to the PDP to do so asap.
Speaking on behalf of the non-indigenes, the Coordinator of Non-indigenes Without Border in Aluu, Mr Francis Nwali, and the Secretary, Mr Goodhead Dagogo, expressed happiness for their acceptance by the PDP leadership of Ikwerre LGA.
They promised to channel all their supports to PDP henceforth and pledged to bring the full members of the body over to PDP.
Other PDP stalwarts in Ikwerre LGA who witnessed the defection include the LGA Executive Members and Ward Chairmen.
