After 11 Years, Arik Air Moves Port Harcourt Operations To MMA2

Eleven years after shunning the Murtala Muhammed Airport Two (MMA2), Lagos, for political reasons, the management of Arik Air has moved its Port Harcourt Airport operations to the private terminal.

The airline said it moved the operations to the terminal as part of its plans to enhance passenger experience.

A statement by the media consultant to the airline said that the Port Harcourt would commence at the terminal from March 17, 2018.

The airline currently operates its domestic operations from the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) of the Lagos airport.

It is not however clear if other operations of the airline would be moved to the terminal in the coming weeks or months or move all its Port Harcourt flights to Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), Lagos.

The statement said, “The decision to move all outbound and inbound Lagos-Port Harcourt flights to MMA2 is informed by the need to enhance passenger flying experience. The MMA2 offers spacious ticketing and departure experience, modern and functional escalators and lifts. The terminal also has automated check-in, generous waiting space, lounges, restaurants and shops.”
