Governor Wike's Chief of Staff donates houses to four widows


In a show of compassion, Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Engr Chukwuemeka Woke on Sunday handed over four apartments to four indigent widows in Rumuakunde Town of Emohua Local Government Area.


The beneficiaries of the the Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor's show of love include: Grace Nkpo ,Florence Nwogu ,Mrs Cecilia Awuse  and Mrs Owem Oteh.

Speaking during the presentation of the houses to the indigent widows, Engr Woke said that he chose widows who are in dire need, especially those without helpers.

He said over the years he had focused  on youths and women groups, but decided to make fundamental  investments in the lives of the widows rather than share money  to them.

"What I have done here today has been made possible because I was appointed as Chief of Staff by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

"I am doing all these in support of the governor and a way of promoting the ideals of developmental politics, which is the mainstay of Governor Wike's  politics.

The Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor noted that annually he sponsors several youths in universities and tertiary institutions as part of his empowerment scheme.

Commissioning the houses for use by the widows, Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor, Prof Atuboyedia Obianime prayed for the likes of Engr Chukwuemeka Woke to populate  the corridors of power in the country.

He said: "This is not about politics. It is about a large heart.  It is not about politics, it is about humanity.  No matter what happens in these Houses, the beneficiaries will always pray for Engr Chukwuemeka Woke ".

He urged politicians to use their privileged positions to  impact on the lives of their constituents as prescribed by the Bible.

Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Chief Tom Aliezi thanked the Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor for reaching out to the less privileged widows by providing accomodation for them.

Member Representing Emohua State Constituency, Mr Sam Ogeh thanked Governor Wike for the opportunity given the Chief of Staff to serve and help the needy in the area.

After the presentation of the houses to the widows, 105 APC Members  defected to the PDP in the area. Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor pledged equal opportunities for the defectors.
