Rivers State Police Command calls for help in identifying man burnt to death in girlfriend’s in Port Harcourt.


Three days after the remains of an unidentified man was cleared from a fire debris at Oginigba waterfronts, no one has come to claim the body.
His identity is still not known to the authorities.


The Oginigba police said no one has come forward to demand or ask for a missing person since the charred body of the man was cleared from the fire debris.

The police called on residents whose adult male child or family member did not return home since Saturday to come forward to identify the charred remains to enable police continue investigation with the hope of arresting the lady whose house was burnt down but left the male guest to burn to ashes before fleeing the community.
Some of the occupants of the shanties told our correspondent that if pictures are presented, they could identify the man who they allege was a regular visitor to the single woman living besides them and who is still yet to be seen.
The single lady was identified as Esther Eka John but the identity of her male friend could not be ascertained as at press time.

Recall that an early morning fire destroyed properties worth thousands of naira at Oginigba waterfronts in Obio/Akpor local government area in Rivers State.
Some occupants of the shanties who escaped the inferno told our correspondent that the fire outbreak was caused by an electrical appliance left unattended to by one of the occupant who is also at large.
