Tragedy struck on Tuesday when one Dickson Edet, a barber residing in Igbo-Etche in Rivers State reportedly beat his girlfriend right in his shop, leading to her sudden death.
The girlfriend, Glory Mma Adamne, was from Gbam Community in Tai Local Government Area, while Edet hails from Akwa Ibom.
An eyewitness told journalists that the girl had accused the boyfriend of cheating on her.
The eyewitness alleged that the couple have frequently been engaged in outbursts which on many occasions escalated into fights
A source said Edet has been arrested by the Nigerianpolice and is now facing a murder charge.
