The influence of former governor Nyesom Wike on the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has been strongly protested by the party.
In an Open Letter addressed to President Tinubu, the party's Publicity Secretary, Comrade Darlington Nwauju, expressed concerns about the former governor's overbearing influence on the party's activities, particularly at the national level.
The letter also emphasized that recognizing Wike would undermine the loyalty of party members and accused him of attempting to hijack the party for his own benefit. The APC in Rivers State urged President Tinubu to reject Wike's efforts to gain control of the party's structures in the state.
“We wish to clear the air that Wike did not deliver any value to our dear Rivers State APC,” the party said
“as a consistent party man who built your ideals of party growth and sustainability on practical people-oriented philosophy, and reward-for-stewardship to resist Wike because he has no political ideology.” they urged President Tinubu
