Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie is Gov. Sim Fubara's new Chief of Staff

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has recently appointed Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie as his new Chief of Staff. Ehie, who previously served as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, made the decision to resign from his position on Sunday night. Additionally, he also stepped down as the representative for Ahoada-East Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly. This appointment comes as a replacement for Hon. Chidi Amadi, who previously held the position of Chief of Staff and is related to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

It is worth noting that during a peace meeting organized by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a resolution was signed by all parties involved. This resolution recognized Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule as the Speaker of the House. However, it did not explicitly mention Ehie's resignation from his seat as a member of the House. Despite this, Governor Fubara has proceeded with appointing Ehie as his Chief of Staff.

This appointment signifies Governor Fubara's confidence in Ehie's abilities and his desire to have a trusted individual in the role of Chief of Staff. While there may be some murmurs regarding Ehie's resignation from the State House of Assembly, the governor's decision to appoint him stands. It remains to be seen how this change in leadership will impact the governance of Rivers State moving forward.
