NNPC Invites Doubters to Tour Port Harcourt Refinery

Port Harcourt, Nigeria – The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has extended an open invitation to skeptics, including prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana, to personally witness the operations at the Port Harcourt Refinery.

This invitation comes in response to ongoing debates and doubts about the refinery's actual operational status. NNPC Ltd's Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, has firmly asserted that the refinery is indeed functional and actively involved in loading operations.

During the commissioning of the NUPENG Towers in Lagos on Wednesday, Kyari emphasized the company's commitment to transparency. He encouraged anyone with doubts to join NNPC Ltd on a guided tour of the refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna to verify their operational capacity firsthand.

Kyari also addressed the controversy surrounding product blending, clarifying that it is a standard industry practice necessary to ensure product quality and compliance with specific regional standards. He explained that blending is essential to adjust product specifications to meet the diverse needs of different markets.

The NNPC Ltd CEO expressed his appreciation for NUPENG's recent achievement, the completion of the NUPENG Towers. He urged the union to continue fostering a positive and collaborative relationship with the company and the Federal Government.

With the President's support and recent Executive Orders aimed at revitalizing the oil and gas sector, Kyari is optimistic about increased investments and job opportunities in the industry.
