Eleme, Rivers State – Hon. TrustGod Appolos Orr-egirinwa, Vice Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, has issued a strong warning to parents in the area following the rape of a 6-year-old girl. The Vice Chairwoman urged parents to be extra vigilant and protect their children, especially young girls.
The disturbing incident occurred on Wednesday morning in Egbalor community, Ebubu, where a 36-year-old man, Elijah Nathan, allegedly lured and raped the minor. Nathan, an indigene of Gokana Local Government Area, has been apprehended by the police.
Hon. Orr-egirinwa, who also oversees health matters for the council, visited the victim at the Eleme Police Station and has ensured that she receives appropriate medical care. Following the visit, she reiterated her warning, stating that anyone who sexually abuses a child will face the full force of the law. She emphasized that Eleme Local Government Area will not tolerate such crimes and will not be a safe place for perpetrators of child abuse.
The Vice Chairwoman’s warning comes as a stark reminder of the need for increased vigilance and community action to protect children from such heinous acts.
