NDLEA Nabs Woman Smuggling Cocaine in Body, Bag at Port Harcourt Airport

Port Harcourt Airport Cocaine Seizure
On May 3, 2025, NDLEA operatives at Port Harcourt International Airport intercepted Ihensekhien Miracle Obehi, a woman disguised in a hijab, attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to Iran via Doha. Following credible intelligence, a search revealed three wraps of cocaine concealed in her private parts, two parcels hidden in her handbag’s false bottom, and 67 ingested pellets. After days of excretion observation, she expelled the 67 wraps, totaling 2.523kg. Obehi admitted to swallowing 67 of 70 intended pellets, inserting the remaining three due to ingestion difficulties.

Lagos Airport Cannabis Haul
On May 9, NDLEA officers at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, arrested 22-year-old British national Campell Kaizra Kofi Johannes Slifer, arriving from Thailand via Doha. His two suitcases contained 35 parcels of Loud, a potent cannabis strain, weighing 37.60kg. Slifer, with prior UK convictions for drug trafficking and robbery, claimed he was recruited in London to transport the drugs from Thailand to Nigeria.

Niger State Skunk Interception
On May 7, NDLEA operatives in Niger State, acting on intelligence, stopped a fuel truck and three vehicles along Suleja-Kaduna road, seizing 246 bags of skunk weighing 3,047kg. Four suspects—Christopher Onyema, 47; Benedict Etineruba Young, 54; Chukwudi Ujue Jerry, 30; and Mohammed Abdullahi Danasabe—were arrested. The vehicles included a Honda Odyssey bus, a Gulf bus, and another Honda Odyssey.

Lagos Tramadol Bust
On May 8, NDLEA operatives in Oja Amukoko, Ijora, Lagos, arrested Eze Chekube Emmanuel and Ike Samuel Chinyerem, recovering 109,914 pills of tramadol, swinol, and nitrozepam.

Kaduna and Kwara Operations
On May 6, NDLEA officers in Kaduna’s Sanga LGA seized 52.5kg of skunk from Lukman Sabo Umar, 23, and Tukur Ammadu, 20, in a bus. On May 5, along Kwara’s Bode Saadu-Jebba expressway, Rufai Nasiru was arrested with 45,400 tramadol 225mg pills.

Bauchi Cannabis Seizure
On May 6, a Toyota Tundra jeep on the Bauchi-Gombe road was intercepted, yielding 526 blocks of skunk weighing 505kg. Suspects Isaac Onogure, 37, and Ikechukwu Peter, 44, were arrested.

Kano Codeine Raid
On May 10, NDLEA operatives raided a hideout in Kano’s Rijiyar Zaki, recovering 31 kegs of codeine syrup (775 liters) from Hafizu Isa Uman, 34, and Ismail Shehu, 48.

Lagos Courier Interception
On May 6, NDLEA officers at a Lagos courier company seized 1.1kg of Loud concealed in a pillow from Thailand.
