Rivers Deputy Governor Lauds Women’s Prayer Group for Peace Advocacy

On June 12, 2025, Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, praised the Rivers Women Unite for SIM during their weekly prayer session at the Ecumenical Center in Port Harcourt. She commended their steadfast resilience and spiritual dedication to promoting peace in Rivers State, emphasizing that Governor Siminalayi Fubara values their unwavering support amid challenging times.

In her sermon, Dr. Preye Oarhe urged the group to remain firm in their faith, referencing the biblical story of Joseph to affirm that God’s plan would ultimately triumph. The women clarified that the gathering was part of their routine prayer and fasting sessions, not a Democracy Day event. They expressed optimism that their prayers would help restore democratic governance and spur development in Rivers State.
