1 Dead, Several Trapped as 5-Story Building Collapses in Port Harcourt; Gov. Fubara Orders Immediate Shutdown

Tragedy struck the heart of Rivers State today as a five-story building under construction unexpectedly collapsed in Port Harcourt, leaving at least one person dead and several others trapped beneath the rubble.
Emergency rescue teams, first responders, and local residents are currently on the scene in a frantic, race-against-time operation to dig out survivors from the debris.


Governor Fubara Storms the Scene, Orders Full Investigation

Reacting swiftly to the unfolding disaster, Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has visited the location to assess the damage. Visibly angered by the incident, Governor Fubara ordered an immediate and total shutdown of the collapse site.
The Governor has also launched a full-scale investigation into the root cause of the structural failure, promising that any contractors, engineers, or officials found guilty of cutting corners or violating building codes will face the full wrath of the law.
"We will not tolerate substandard construction in Rivers State. Every life matters, and we will get to the bottom of this tragedy," structural safety advocates echoed following the executive directive.
