PORT HARCOURT, NIGERIA — The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has officially scaled up its healthcare infrastructure intervention program across Rivers State. In an early morning brief, the commission confirmed the final delivery and setup of advanced medical diagnostics units and primary care equipment to selected rural health centers.
The deployment, which follows an executive signing over the weekend, is aimed at reducing the diagnostic medical load on the major tertiary hospitals inside the Port Harcourt metropolis. NDDC representatives stated today that the project forms part of a larger, state-wide 2026 rural health framework designed to give immediate host communities access to free primary maternal and emergency medical interventions.
