4 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED FOR DISTRIBUTING UNHYGIENIC BREAD IN PORT HARCOURT






The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) announced in a statement released today, that it arrested four people and impounded three vehicles loaded with unregistered and unhygienic loaves of bread this week, around Rumuokoro, Port Harcourt.


The statement which was signed by the agency’s state coordinator, Mercy Ndukwe stated that the packaging of some of the seized bread did not state the address of the producer(s).


The agency which is tasked with regulating the activities of food producers and resellers in the country, mandates producers of food to be registered under it, and provide product and business details on the label of food products.


The agency’s statement said it also stormed that Mile 1, Mile 3, and Sangana markets where it arrested 2 more people for the distribution of fake cosmetic products.
