PRESIDENT BUHARI IS COMING TO RIVERS STATE SOON

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is now being expected to visit Rivers State. The office of the president revealed this on Monday morning via a series of tweets with the official account of the Nigerian President.

The visit is said to be following reports received by the President from the security agencies on the killings in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, and Emohua Local Government Areas in January which left about 28 people dead in the first week of the year. Although no specific date was given for the visit, the tweet said the President will begin the visit from Taraba state this March, and later Benue, Yobe, Gombe, and Rivers states.

The tweet said the President was embarking on the visits to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the security situations in the states. The president said he has been receiving daily briefings on the situations, and have been in touch with the state Governors.
