As more concerned individuals begin to complain about demands by men of the state decontamination team before their facilities would be fumigated, the Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA),Bro Felix Obuah says the State Decontamination Team currently fumigating all public places across the State has been fully paid and remunerated by the State Government.
Bro. Obuah who made the disclosure statement issued by his spokesperson, Pastor Jerry Needam Tuesday evening, said the development is coming against the backdrop of clandestine moves by some persons to lure the team with gratifications for their selfish motives. This is as the Moslem community in the state lamented that the Decontamination Team under RIWAMA scheme collected the sum of N40,000 before fumigating Mile One Central Mosque.

Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Islamic Affairs, Murtala Bamidele made this known during the meeting between religious leaders and Governor Nyesom Wike.

But the RIWAMA boss in the statement warned that anybody involved or caught in the act would have themselves to blame as the full weight of the law will be brought to bear on such person(s). He said the fumigation exercise is one of the measures taken by the Governor Nyesom Wike-led administration to curtail the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic and is targeted at public places like schools, churches, markets, motor parks amongst otherd at the expense of the State Government.

He said the team is closely monitored to ensure that all the designated public places are readily captured as well as enable them execute the project without distractions.
