Rivers Police Commissioner Denies Suspected Cultist, School Boy was Tortured to Death in Eagle-Crack Team Custody




The Rivers state police command has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the demise of a suspected cultist who was allegedly apprehended by the Diobu Vigilante Group and handed over to the Police.
The command has debunked the news making rounds that the suspect cultist who was allegedly arrested with AK 47 at Obidianso water side died while in Eagles Crack team's custody at the Mile One Police Station.

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers state, Joseph Mukan stated this while briefing journalists on the circumstances that led to the death of the cultist identified as School boy.

He clarified that the suspect was rescued by police from mob action and he died on his way to the hospital.

On his part, the Chairman of Diobu Vigilante Group, Amatari Bipeledei said the late school boy and his gang members were wielding the Ak47 and gyrating when the vigilante was alerted to the scene.

He said a crowd swoop on them before his group's arrival and lot of people got injured before police rescued them.
