Today's #EndSars Protest Will Hold Despite Political Distractions - KO Baba, RIVCSO

Organizers of the #EndSars Protest billed to hold this morning in Port Harcourt says they are going ahead with the march despite Monday night fears expressed by the Rivers State Government the it had uncovered plans by the opposition to deploy thugs to hijack it.
The government in a statement issued by the Commissioner of Information, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim accused the faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) loyal to the Minister for Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi of being behind the scheme.

But one of the organisers, KO Baba Jornsen in an interview with City News urged youths and residents of the city to disregard the political narratives and come out to register their grievances against police brutality and all forms of oppression against the people.

He assured that there will be surplus to eat and drink and that the march will be peaceful.

Also said, Publicity Secretary of the Rivers State Coalition of Civil Society Organizations (RIVCSO) told City News that the protesters will be marching down to the Rivers State Police Headquarter along Moscow Road to enquire from the Commissioner why the command has refused to pay a condolence visit to Sleek's family who was allegedly killed by it's officer over a month after the incident.

The protesters are expected to converge at Pleasure Park at Airforce by 9am march to Moscow Road then return to terminate at Waterlines junction.
