Vigilantes Apprehend Suspect who Allegedly Molested and Robbed Residents returning from Crossover Service in Rumuodara





Vigilante members at Okporo in Rumuodara, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have apprehended one Ndubuisi Igwe aka SS Chief, said to be a member of a three-man robbery gang while he and his group were allegedly robbing worshippers returning from Crossover service earlier on Friday, January 1st, 2021.
President of the Rumuodara Youth  Association, Frank  Weli who confirmed the incident explained said he received a distress call about the incident and immediately mobilized members of the Vigilante in the area.
"On getting to the scene," he said "the suspects who were armed with Ak 47 rifles shot in the air to scare them and make way for their escape". 

Weli said while SS was caught on the scene, his colleagues who were with the AK 47 rifle ran away.

He said the suspect has been handed over to the Okporo Police Station in Rumuodara. 

He revealed that a locally made pistol with two cartridges were recovered from him.

City News gathered that the hoodlums inflicted injury on some of their female victims while reportedly harassing them indecently .

The spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, SP Nnamdi Omoni is yet to confirm the incident.
