The Rivers State University (RSU) has announced the expulsion of Suanu Wisdom Nwiyara who, a fortnight ago, allegedly shot and killed a final year student within the school premises.
Nwiyaara, a 300 level Architectural Science student of same institution as the deceased, was arrested by the police while attempting to escape after he allegedly killed Osundu Chimela who reportely had a gun hidden in his panties before he was shot.
In a statement released on Tuesday evening, the RSU management said the move to expel Nwiyaara was necessary as the institution has zero tolerance for cultism and all forms of violence, especially within its premises.
Although earlier reports claimed Nwiyaara is related to Hon. Prince Ngbor, member representing Khana Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, the lawmaker has since issued a statement distancing himself from him.
