Port Harcourt, Rivers State – December 24, 2024 – The Rivers State Police Command has a new helmsman, CP Olugbenga Adepoju Adewole, psc, mnips., bringing with him unique crime-fighting strategies.
CP Adewole, a seasoned police officer with an exceptional service record and extensive experience in modern policing, assumed office on December 24, 2024, as the 47th Commissioner of Police for Rivers State. He succeeds CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala, psc., who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police and redeployed as AIG in-charge of Zone 6 Calabar.
Prior to his appointment, CP Adewole served as the head of the Department of Operations at the Rivers State Police Command.
A native of Ibadan Town in the Ibadan North/East Local Government Area of Oyo State, CP Adewole holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Ibadan, earned in 1991. He joined the Nigeria Police Force on June 10, 1994, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
