Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed unwavering faith in God's ability to defeat the enemies of the state and its people.
During a crossover service at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Opobo Town, on New Year's Eve, Governor Fubara led the congregation in a powerful rendition of a song declaring God's ultimate authority. He emphasized that this song serves as a reminder of God's unwavering power and a source of encouragement for the people to place their trust in Him for continued success in the New Year.
Fubara confidently stated, "The Red Biro is still filled. It is still here with me. Every enemy plan will continue to crash," expressing his optimism for the year ahead.
Bishop Emmanuel Oko-Jaja of the Anglican Diocese of Niger Delta, who presided over the service, acknowledged the numerous challenges faced in 2024, including conspiracies, attacks, and economic hardships. However, he emphasized that these obstacles did not overcome the faith of the congregation.
Bishop Oko-Jaja assured the congregation that God would continue to guide and protect them in the New Year, leading them to victory in all their endeavors. He offered prayers for peace, unity, and accelerated development within the state, aligning with the goals outlined in the state government's 2025 Budget of Inclusive Growth and Development.
The service was marked by joyful worship, powerful choir performances, and enthusiastic celebrations as the new year arrived.
Governor Fubara was joined by prominent figures, including the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers, and other key stakeholders in the state.
