PORT HARCOURT, Rivers State – The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed counterfeit and expired goods worth an estimated N4.7 billion. The seized items, which included fake drugs, unwholesome processed food, and substandard products, were destroyed in the South-South zone.
The destruction was overseen by NAFDAC Director-General, Professor Christianah Adeyeye, and served as a demonstration of the agency's dedication to safeguarding public health from potentially harmful products.
Among the destroyed items were substandard and falsified medical products, unwholesome processed food products and additives, unsafe cosmetics, counterfeits, and expired NAFDAC-regulated products.
