The Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr. Daniel Dorka, yesterday received the Coalition of All Political Parties’ Councillorship Candidates for the 2025 Rivers State Local Government Election in his office.
Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Daniel Dorka thanked them for their unity, coordination and willingness to work with the Executive Chairman, Dr. Thomas Bariere Ariar DSSRS, CNA. He acquainted them with the developmental strides of the Bariere-led administration, noting that the Chairman has empowered over 1,200 political appointees, constructing a new school in Yae Community where children previously learned under trees and in open fields, building police stations in Babbe and Ken-Khana clans to safeguard rural communities and provided 500KVA transformers to several communities in Khana, including Bori urban. He emphasized that these initiatives are geared towards renewing the hopes of Khana people and improving their overall well-being.
“Dr. Bariere has, within his first 100 days, shown clear determination to transform Khana and sustain the peace he restored in his first tenure,” he stated.
The Coalition of Councillorship Candidates pledged to synergize with the Bariere-led administration by being good ambassadors of their respective wards. They also appealed for inclusion in the Chairman’s renewed hope empowerment initiatives, noting that in the coming days, there will be massive defection into the Khana Renewed Hope family, as “there is nothing like opposition in Khana Local Government Area.”
Responding, Dr. Dorka assured them that their concerns would be communicated to the Executive Chairman and encouraged them to maintain synergy with their ward councillors for effective grassroots governance.
