
In a significant stride toward curbing drug abuse and criminality in the region, the Rivers State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has released its mid-year operational report for 2026.
The agency announced that from January to June 2026, it successfully apprehended 242 suspected drug offenders across the state. This enforcement action highlights the agency's ongoing commitment to disrupting the supply and distribution of illicit substances within Rivers State.
Key Highlights of the Report
Total Arrests: The Command detained 242 suspects between January and June 2026.
Convictions: During the same six-month period, the agency successfully secured 61 convictions against offenders in various courts of law.
Substance Seizures: Over 146 kilograms of various illicit substances were seized by the command, preventing these items from reaching local communities.
The NDLEA continues to urge the public to assist in these efforts by providing actionable information regarding suspected drug-related activities within their neighborhoods.
