Attention to all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) deployed to Niger State for the 2026 Batch B Stream I service year!
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially announced the suspension of the orientation course in Niger State until further notice.
Why is this happening?
The suspension is due to ongoing emergency renovation works at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko, Paikoro LGA. These repairs were prompted by extensive damage caused by a recent, severe windstorm that impacted critical facilities including the male hostels, multipurpose hall, kitchen, and staff quarters.
What should you do?
Do Not Report to Camp: If you were deployed to Niger State, please stay where you are. Do not travel to the Paiko camp at this time.
Stay Informed: The NYSC management is working urgently to secure an alternative venue for the orientation exercise.
Monitor Official Channels: You will be contacted at short notice with instructions on when and where to report. Keep a close watch on the official NYSC portal and their verified social media handles for the most accurate updates.
The NYSC management has expressed its sincere regret for the inconvenience this delay causes to PCMs and their families.
We know how much anticipation goes into this service year, and we understand this news is unsettling. Please stay calm, keep your bags packed, and ensure your lines of communication remain open for the official announcement.
We will continue to monitor the situation and bring you the latest updates here on PORTHARCOURTBLOG. Stay safe!
