The Chairman of Okrika Local Government Area, Hon. Akuro Tobin, has been honoured with an Outstanding Leadership Award in recognition of his exemplary administrative performance and commitment to grassroots development.
The prestigious award was presented to the Chairman by the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Rivers State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Dr. Chimenem Worlu, during a solidarity visit to the Okrika Council Secretariat on Friday, June 19, 2026.

The NYCN leadership lauded Hon. Tobin for his inclusive style of governance and his "Youth First" philosophy, which he has championed throughout his tenure. The delegation specifically highlighted the impact of his administration's youth-focused initiatives, including:
