
In a major enforcement operation, the Nigerian Navy, operating under the mandate of Operation DELTA SENTINEL, has successfully intercepted a significant quantity of illicit petroleum products in the Okrika Local Government Area.
Operation Highlights
During a patrol in the Ogoloma area, naval personnel identified and intercepted two wooden boats suspected of being involved in illegal bunkering activities. The operation resulted in the following recovery:
Substantial Seizure: Approximately 52,600 litres of suspected stolen crude oil were recovered from the vessels.
Strategic Impact: This interception is part of the ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Navy to combat crude oil theft and illegal refining, which continue to threaten both the regional economy and the environment.
