Rivers State continues to cement its status as a powerhouse for indigenous manufacturing and industrial innovation.

The Solewant Group has officially announced its readiness to commission its brand-new SSPC & Paints Manufacturing Plant. The high-profile commissioning ceremony is slated for Friday, July 31, 2026, at the expansive Solewant Industrial Park located in Alode-Eleme-Onne, Rivers State.

This milestone expansion under the group's Roadmap Plus strategy is designed to scale up domestic manufacturing capabilities, deeply align with local content development policies, and drastically reduce reliance on foreign-imported industrial inputs.

What the New Plant Brings to the Table:

World-Class Protection Standards: The facility is engineered to churn out globally benchmarked coating solutions and specialized paints (including the trusted Solguard and Novaguard series lines).

Multi-Sector Application: Products manufactured at the plant will cater to heavy-duty industrial, marine, offshore oil and gas assets, petrochemical plants, refineries, as well as commercial and residential infrastructure.

Combating Corrosion Locally: The plant's portfolio covers solvent and water-based epoxy coatings, polyurethane coatings, zinc-rich primers, and heavy-duty decorative finishes built to withstand harsh weather, chemical aggression, and marine environments.

Boosting Employment & Skills: Beyond manufacturing, the facility acts as a major hub for local innovation, creating specialized jobs for Nigerian chemists, technicians, and engineers while encouraging active technology transfer.

A Mega Gathering of Industry Leaders

The grand commissioning is expected to draw a massive turnout of top-tier stakeholders, including government officials, captains of industry, oil and gas executives, members of the diplomatic community, and development partners from across the nation. Attendees will also get an exclusive first-hand look at the facility's advanced R&D and quality assurance laboratories.

As Rivers State rapidly positions itself at the forefront of African industrial independence, PORTHARCOURTBLOG will bring you live coverage and ground reports as the tapes are cut this Friday.
