The political chess match heating up ahead of 20th-century alignments in Rivers State has taken a sharp turn as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) strongly refuted claims of a merger.
The state chapter of the ADC has formally distanced itself from swirling media reports suggesting that a faction of the party had collapsed its structure into the newly re-energized Rainbow Coalition spearheaded by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.
Setting the Record Straight: "No Factions in Rivers ADC"
In a strongly worded statement issued in Port Harcourt by the State Publicity Secretary, Chizi Enyi, the party dismissed the alliance reports as entirely false, misleading, and engineered to manufacture artificial divisions within its ranks.
The party emphasized that the Rivers State chapter remains rock-solid and unified under the recognized National Executive Committee led by former Senate President David Mark.
The Impostor Warning: The ADC explicitly disowned individuals parading themselves in media reports as representatives of a purported "faction," stating that any political declarations or alignments made by such figures are strictly personal.
The "Phantom Faction" Blunder: The party poked holes in the reports, calling out references to a nonexistent "Ibe Kachukwu faction" within the state structure, challenging anyone to find a single recognized stakeholder by that name in Rivers State. "The glaring factual blunder completely destroys the credibility of the publications," the statement fired.
Pushing Back Against Political Mischief
The opposition party warned against attempts to manipulate public perception or politicize regional security and stability through coordinated propaganda. Reassuring its loyal base across the grassroots, the ADC maintained that it remains fully focused on presenting a credible alternative for the state.
As political realignments continue to dominate discussions across Port Harcourt, the ADC’s firm stance makes it clear that the battle for 2027 won't be a walkover, and every political block is guarding its territory fiercely.
