In a robust drive to deepen grassroots development and expand critical public infrastructure, the Rivers State Government has officially kicked off a sweeping, multi-week inauguration program for 10 major people-oriented projects executed under the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.  

The comprehensive commissioning lineup spanning roads, bridges, cutting-edge educational facilities, and critical healthcare institutions

demonstrates the administration’s focused commitment to spreading tangible dividends of democracy across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

Commissioning Schedule

The high-profile inauguration series covers vital sectors designed to transform community connectivity and public service delivery:

Roads & Transportation Arteries:

 Buguma-Degema-Abonnema 

Road: Kicking off the series, this 

vital link connects communities 

across the Asari-Toru, Degema, and 

Akuku-Toru local government 

areas.  

 Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Dual 

Carriageway: A major 

economic corridor spanning 

Ikwerre, Emohua, and 

Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni (ONELGA) 

LGAs.  

 Egwi-Afara-Mba Road (Etche 

LGA), Omademe Internal 

Roads (Ikwerre LGA), and the 

Agba Ndele Road and Bridge 

(Emohua LGA).  

New Air Force Base Runway:

strategic aviation milestone situated 

in the Port Harcourt Local 

Government Area.  

Healthcare Expansion:

 Omoku Zonal Hospital 

(ONELGA).  

The newly established Neuro-

Psychiatric Hospital and New 

General Hospital in Rumuigbo, 

Obio/Akpor LGA.  

 Education & Human Capital Development:

Captain Elechi Amadi 

Polytechnic: Featuring the 

newly completed 

Entrepreneurship Centre and 

Engineering Faculty Building in 

Rumuola.  

Bonny National Grammar School

(Bonny Local Government Area), 

marking a major uplift for 

secondary educational standards.  

Government Reaffirms Commitment to the Grassroots

Addressing journalists during a detailed media briefing in Port Harcourt, the Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG), Dr. Dagogo Wokoma, emphasized that these projects serve as undeniable proof of Governor Fubara’s unwavering resolve to address infrastructural deficits.

"These projects scheduled for commissioning are tangible evidence of His Excellency's unwavering dedication to transform our communities and address the developmental needs of our people," Dr. Wokoma stated. "They underscore this administration's commitment to ensuring that governance produces meaningful and measurable benefits for every citizen across the State."

The state government has called on community leaders, stakeholders, and residents of the host local government areas to come out en masse, celebrate these developmental milestones, and continue to support the administration’s drive for sustained peace and progress.
