Healthcare delivery across rural communities in Rivers State has received a major boost with the commissioning of a brand-new 105-bed zonal hospital in Omoku, located within the Rivers West senatorial district.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara formally unveiled the state-of-the-art medical facility as part of his administration’s driving commitment to making quality healthcare accessible, affordable, and close to home for residents outside the capital city.
Expanding Access to Quality Healthcare
For years, residents in Omoku and neighboring communities often had to travel long distances to access advanced medical care. This newly inaugurated zonal hospital is designed to bridge that gap, equipped with modern medical wards, diagnostic equipment, and professional healthcare personnel to handle emergency services, maternal care, and general medical treatments.
