Travelling to Omoku in recent time, is not much of a smooth ride. No thanks to potholes on the highway.

Following this development, residents have called for urgent attention by the state government on the sorry state of Ahoada/Omoku road.

A cross section of residents who spoke with ONELGA News lauded the developmental strides of Governor Wike, especially on roads construction and rehabilitation in the state, urging him to extend the gesture to the area.

Eze Ajie, who spoke to ONELGA News noted that Governor Wike has awarded the construction of the road, he however, suggested that government should in the interim do palliative work on the road to ease the suffering of motorists these ember months.Ajie maintained that the pitiable state of Ahoada/Omoku road is holding growth and development in the local government that has the largest oil wells in the country.

Another resident, Isioma Oburu corroborated Eze, adding that hoodlums use the advantage of the road to unleash mayhem on the citizenry.
He also commended Rivers state performing governor for the internal road project in Omoku.

Recall that at the flag off of the construction of Kpopie-Bodo road in Gokana LGA, Governor Wike stated that, "my commitment to Rivers people is unwavering. I will never make promise that I will not fulfill. Whether or not there is economic recession, we shall continue to work for the people of the state". See More photos below
