ROTIMI AMAECHI ACCUSES GOVERNOR WIKE OF ABANDONING PROJECTS HE INITIATED IN BORI

The former Governor of Rivers State, and current Minister for Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi was at a political rally held by a Pro-APC group, the Free Rivers Initiative in Bori, Khana Local Government Area. The minister took the time to have a swipe at his political arch-rival, the current Governor of Rivers State. He alleged that the Governor intentionally discontinued his agricultural and health care initiatives in Bori.

The minister made the accusation while addressing a group of APC sympathizers. He asserted that the governor shut down the banana plantation and frustrated the primary health centre in Bori, in a bid to undo his legacy. He blamed the governor for causing unemployment in the town through his actions.

“We employed doctors in the health centres, but they are all gone.

“To provide for you, I established a farm. That farm employed up to 500 persons, but because Wike had what we call Amaechi-phobia, he went there and cut down all the banana plantation completely, and now you are unemployed.”

Recently, the former Commissioner for Agriculture, Emma Chinda who served in the administration of Rotimi Amaechi, accused Governor Wike of neglecting the agro-investments established by his predecessor. But the serving Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Isaac Kamalu defended the Governor, stating that litigations and disagreements in ownership, management and investments are responsible for the state government’s decision to suspend the pursuit of such initiatives.
