The incident was said to have happened in Chokocho, in Etche Local Government Area on Saturday.
According to a source, the mistress of the deceased's husband allegedly paid the apprentice to poison the meal.
The unnamed tailoring apprentice reportedly carried out the act while her employer stepped out to fetch water.
