Oh My Darling Abua-Odual!
Abua–Odual (also written as Abua/Odual) is a Local Government Area in Rivers State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is located in Ayama/Abua Central.

It has an area of 704 km² and a population of over 300,000.00.

The area is blessed with beautiful soil and aquatic bodies which supports various farming practices and it is also endowed with natural resources and minerals.

It is believed that people of the area are the most hospitable and loving in Rivers State.

In today's series, I want to decry the level of neglect & abandonment by the state and federal government. With emphasis on the Wike led state administration.

I recall vividly, prior to the 2015 election the massive support the people of Abua-Odual gave to the governor, then the candidate of the PDP.

Because the support was pleasing to you, you promised to impact meaningfully in the area in terms of development if elected, and also promised to nominate two (2) commissionership slots in your state executive council from Abua-Odual.

The people demonstrated their support in the election by voting him overwhelmingly, even above the votes Chief (Barr.)  N. E. Wike got in his local government area, Obio/Akpor.

Recent events and commissioning since last year has made me ponder what has gone wrong.
I have asked myself  many unanswered questions.
This is the second year in the second tenure of the government and sadly Abua-Odual is yet to have her statutory member as a commissioner in the Rivers State Executive Council.
Other areas begging for urgent answers is the state of ongoing state projects in the area.

1. The state of the Abua-Agba-Ndele Bridge (Initiated by the immediate past state Executive Council)

2. The state of the Otapha Road Project.

3. The state of the Okpeden Road (Scheduled to be completed December, 2017)

4. The state of the GSS Abua (remodeling)

5. The Odual Road

6. The Odual rice farm et al

Very disheartening all these projects are in a sorry state, either abandoned or deplorable.

Please, Mr Governor, if it is because of our errors as humans that have made you forget us, forgive us.
If it is the Abua/Odual PDP leaders in-house fighting, please forgive us. If it was the 2019 election incident, please forgive us. We are not the only Local Government that did not vote or sold out.
The projects stated above are in dire need of completion and commissioning.

Mr Project, as my governor is fondly called, the internal roads in Abua and Odual also need urgent attention. We are aware of the internal roads you did in Ikwerre, Obio Akpor, Emuoha, Ogoni, Omoku, Ahouda etc.  Abua-Odual internal roads are in comatose.

Please remember our 2015 support and do the needful in the remainder of your tenure and write your name in gold in our hearts as Abolgans.

Long Live The Governor
Long Live Abua-Odual
Long Live Rivers State.
