Amaewhule-led Rivers Assembly Blocks Fubara from Spending

The Rivers State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Martin Amaewhule, has taken a bold step to halt all expenditures of Governor Siminalayi Fubara until he presents his budget before the legislators.

This decision was made during a recent plenary session, following a strict seven-day ultimatum given to the governor to submit his budget for the year 2024 to the House.

The Leader of the House, Major Jack, brought up the motion to inform the members about the expiration of the ultimatum and the necessity of taking action. After thorough deliberation, the House unanimously agreed to block access to the Rivers State Consolidated Revenue Account, effectively preventing Governor Fubara's administration from accessing funds for any spending on behalf of the state.
