In a scathing press release issued on Saturday, the PDP's National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, confirmed the party's intention to head to court. Ememobong labelled the latest action a "re-defection," pointing out that the same members had previously announced their departure from the PDP, only to backtrack later.

The statement did not hold back, sharply criticizing the defecting lawmakers and accusing them of acting on the instructions of a mysterious "paymaster."

"They will go down in history as enemies of democracy and those who made a mockery of the legislature," Ememobong stated.

The PDP further described the assembly members as "political puppets" and a "clog in the wheels of democratic progress," claiming their actions prove they were already working with the opposition. The party mockingly referred to the cross-over as a "defection from APC to APC."

Legal Action: PDP Seeks to "Recover the Mandate"

The PDP has wasted no time, announcing that it will take immediate legal steps to challenge the defection.
