Three people are dead — including a 17-year-old girl — after a vehicle in President Bola Tinubu's convoy veered off the road and ploughed into a mechanic workshop and surrounding structures at Obogoro, near the Dr. Goodluck Jonathan Bridge in Bayelsa State, today Friday 11, 2026
The incident happened on Friday during the President's one-day working visit to Bayelsa, where he was commissioned projects executed by Governor Douye Diri. The convoy was en route to the Angiama-Oporoma Bridge when the last vehicle suddenly lost control, crashing into nearby structures before being stopped by concrete slabs left behind by Julius Berger after construction of the Jonathan Bridge.
Three lives lost. One of them just 17 years old.
