PORT HARCOURT – Governor Siminalayi Fubara has officially cleared the air regarding his political future, dismissing widespread speculations that he intended to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the newly formed Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The rumors gained traction following high-profile defections at the national level, with many suggesting Fubara was seeking a new platform amidst internal party frictions. However, while standing at the site of the newly completed General Hospital in Rumuigbo, the Governor was emphatic: "I am a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and nothing has changed.
Fubara explained that his administration’s priority is delivering on the "Rivers First" mandate. He noted that the rehabilitation of the Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Rumuigbo was a response to a critical gap in mental health services in the state.
